Titled *Into Mischief*, this hand-colored lithograph was issued by the New York firm Currier & Ives from its address on Nassau Street around 1857. The firm produced a steady stream of inexpensive prints for a broad middle-class market, and scenes of children were a popular subject in the 1850s, when domestic life was a common theme in American popular imagery. The print is listed as number 3361 in the firm's catalog raisonné and was also included in the exhibition *American ABC* at the Cantor Center for Visual Arts.
