Three of the most recognizable political figures of the period share this billboard: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and President Woodrow Wilson, each shown in a head-and-shoulders portrait. Wilson had taken office in March 1913, and Roosevelt and Taft had just split the Republican vote in the 1912 election, so seeing all three together was unusual. The national prohibition debate was gaining ground in these years, and the poster uses the names of these leaders to argue against it. The print is catalogued among the William H. Taft Papers at the Library of Congress, and the record credits a W.H. Warner as the advertiser.
