Unlike the photographs and posters on this board, this is an ink drawing of a planned building: B.F. Keith's Palace theater on East 6th Street near Vine Street in Cincinnati, dated 1926. Keith was a leading figure in American vaudeville, and his theaters were built to draw large crowds with live acts, and increasingly with films, during the 1920s, when movie palaces were transforming downtown entertainment districts. Architectural drawings like this one show the building's layout and design before construction, so they reveal the intended scale and planning of a theater that was meant to impress its audience from the street as well as inside.
