This 1925 ink drawing is an architectural elevation rather than a photograph, and it shows a complex that combined a vaudeville house, an office building, and a motion picture theater on Walnut Street opposite the Cincinnati post office. The B.F. Keith name points to the Keith circuit, the vaudeville chain built by Benjamin Franklin Keith, whose theaters in the early twentieth century were known for clean family entertainment. Drawings like this one, held in the Library of Congress's Architecture, Design and Engineering collection, were produced to guide construction and document planned buildings, so the sheet records design intent as much as a finished street scene.
