The short title "Colo" is most likely an abbreviation for Colorado, a state whose western slope valleys were significant apple-growing country by the 1920s. The card shows workers sorting apples and hauling them away from the orchard, the handling that moved fruit from tree to packing shed to rail car. Keystone View Company, the Meadville, Pennsylvania firm that published it, sold stereographs like this by the thousands for use in hand viewers, which gave home audiences a three-dimensional look at industries such as fruit growing.
