Feathers in her hair and veils in hand set this color lithograph apart from the other figure studies on the board, though its record gives only a descriptive title and does not name the show or performer it advertised. The poster was printed around 1899 by the Courier Litho. Co. of Buffalo, New York, a firm that produced color lithographs for theatrical and commercial clients at the end of the nineteenth century. Posters of this kind, with stylized female figures in light costume, were a common way to draw passersby toward stage entertainments. Its multicolor printing reflects the layered inking methods typical of the period.
