The Cincinnati Industrial Exposition of 1875 was a civic showcase of the manufacturers and machinery that made the river city a major Midwestern manufacturing center. Expositions like this one let cities advertise their factories and draw buyers and visitors. The shelflist card credits the print to Krebs Litho. Co., which points to a Cincinnati lithography shop, though that attribution is unverified. Lithographed views of such events were prized as souvenirs and as records of the city's commercial life.
