The title on this glass negative names a Hopkins Titanafram exhibit at an industrial exposition in 1926, though the record notes that the title came from unverified data written on the negative or its sleeve. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., commercial studio, made large numbers of such views of events, buildings and people in the early twentieth century, and its glass plates were later donated to the Library of Congress. Industrial expositions of the 1920s drew manufacturers to show machinery and products to buyers and the public. Viewers should also notice the streaks and blemishes the archive attributes to the aging of the original coatings.
