The San Diego production advertised here was a Federal theater Project staging in 1939, the year the program's federal funding was cut. The show was George Savage's three-act comedy *American Family Robinson*, which the poster promotes as a sizzling, fun-filled evening. The Federal theater Project, part of the Works Progress Administration, employed actors, designers and stagehands during the Depression and staged plays in cities across the country. Its posters were often silkscreened in bold color, a cheap method that let the program advertise widely on a tight budget.
