The title "Lazzari" is the only identifying detail in the record, and the Bain News Service's caption information was never verified, so it may name a person, a performer, or a place. Like the rest of the George Grantham Bain Collection, this glass negative comes from a New York photo agency that supplied news pictures of people, events, and everyday life, mostly in the early twentieth century. Because the record gives no date or description, the picture is best understood as one example of that agency's work, made on the large glass plates that were standard before flexible film became common.
