The only identifying detail in this record is the name H. Kazenarek, taken from caption cards the Bain News Service attached to its glass negatives, and the Library of Congress notes that the title has not been verified. Bain was a New York news photography agency active in the early twentieth century, supplying pictures of people, events and street scenes to newspapers. Its negatives were made for quick daily publication, so the caption cards were often the only record of who was photographed. With no date recorded, the negative is best read as a document of its era, when news pictures were made to be reprinted within a day.
