A glass negative titled "Times" at 2944 Upton Street NW, Washington, D.C., sets this picture apart by its specific address rather than a well-known landmark. The National Photo Company produced thousands of Washington views in the early twentieth century, recording the city's streets and buildings as the capital expanded. The record dates the plate to about 1920 based on neighboring negatives, but the title is unverified, so "Times" may refer to a business, a building, or a label added later. Streaks and blemishes from the aging of the original coating are also visible on the glass.
