A glass negative labeled "Times" at 8004 Varnum Street, N.W., is one of the few records of this particular address, though the name comes from a National Photo Company label that has not been independently verified. The company photographed Washington streets and buildings for sale in the early twentieth century, and the image's approximate date of 1920 is inferred from neighboring negatives in the same batch. Look closely at the glass, where streaks and blemishes from the gradual breakdown of the original coating are visible, a common condition in negatives of this age.
