Der ist Schuld am Kriege!" ("He is to blame for the war!") carries the Star of David at the center of its message, marking the figure the poster accuses. The cartoon is signed "Mjölnir," the pen name of Hans Schweitzer, a German caricaturist whose work was widely used by the Nazi regime. Dated 1943, the poster is antisemitic propaganda that blamed Jews for the Second World War, a claim the regime used to justify persecution at home and abroad. Its subject tags for the war's moral dimensions and Jewish persecution make it a useful primary source on how such imagery was built and circulated.
