A 1909 Rambler with a four-cylinder engine is the subject here, photographed about thirty-five years after the car was built. The Rambler was made by the Thomas B. Jeffery Company in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and by the 1940s a car of this age had become rare enough on American roads to draw a photographer's eye. The print was made by the Grogan Photo Company of Danville, Illinois, and its copyright registration is noted on the record, which shows that a commercial studio in the Midwest was recording older machines during the war years.
