The Scripps-Booth was a short-lived American automobile, and this glass negative records one of its sedans in 1921, the year the company was still building cars under the Scripps-Booth name in Detroit. The subject is a car rather than a place or a person, which sets it apart from the many street and building views on this board. National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C. studio that worked from the 1910s into the 1930s, produced large numbers of commercial and publicity images, and its glass plates often served as a record of new products and their makers. The record notes that the title comes from unverified information written on the negative sleeve, so the car's model and details should be taken as provisional, and the plate shows the streaks and blemishes typical of aging emulsion.
