*Nature's harmony* brings together three subjects, a meadow, a stream, and a sunrise or sunset, in one landscape. The picture was issued by Brown & Bigelow of St. Paul, Minnesota, which was known in the early twentieth century for calendars and decorative wall prints. The halftone process, which broke a painted image into tiny dots of ink, let a publisher print a color version of a painting in large numbers and sell it cheaply, so an artist's landscape could reach ordinary homes. The record does not identify the painter beyond the initial "E. Lamasure," so the scene is best read as a typical pastoral view of its period.
