Printed in color around 1899, this lithograph promotes the "Congress of Rough Riders of the World," a feature that set Buffalo Bill's Wild West apart from other traveling shows. William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody and his partner Nate Salsbury built the show around horsemen from many nations alongside American cowboys and Native performers, and it toured American cities and later Europe. The sheet was made by the Courier Litho Company of Buffalo, New York, a firm that produced many bold posters for touring entertainments of the period.
