A 1930 chromolithograph marking the tenth anniversary of Poland's defeat of the Soviet Russian invasion, a commemoration that centers on the Battle of Warsaw in August 1920. The poster's subjects are Józef Piłsudski, who led Polish forces in that campaign, and two earlier national heroes, Tadeusz Kościuszko and Prince Józef Antoni Poniatowski. Printed in Warsaw by the E. and K. Koziański firm, it was issued by an anniversary committee to link the 1920 victory with Poland's older struggles for independence. The design is worth noting for how it places a recent military triumph within a longer national story.
