Named for the vaudeville empire built by B.F. Keith and Edward F. Albee, the Keith-Albee theater stood on Fourth Avenue near Tenth Street in Huntington, West Virginia. This ink-on-paper drawing, dated 1934, is an architectural rendering rather than a photograph, so its lines show the building's design as its makers planned it. By the 1930s many houses on the circuit were turning toward motion pictures, a shift the subject headings for this record reflect in their focus on motion picture theaters.
