This 1937 gouache takes its message from its text, "Develop their talent," paired with a line urging federal and state aid offices to help blind people. The subject is the training of blind students in music, which was one of the areas where New Deal programs tried to turn public assistance into skills and paid work. Works Progress Administration artists produced many color posters in this period to promote public services, and this one belongs to that effort. The title is cut off at the end ("se[e]"), so the full wording of the appeal is not certain from the record alone.
