Ann Eliza Young, the nineteenth wife of Brigham Young, appears in this lithograph printed by the Boston firm Armstrong & Co. The portrait dates from the years after she left her husband's household in 1873 and became a public critic of plural marriage. She sued him for divorce in 1874 and published her memoir, *Wife No. 19*, in 1875. Images like this one helped put her personal story before readers who followed the national campaign against polygamy.
