Promoting the annual Farm and Home Week at the University of Illinois College of Agriculture in Urbana-Champaign, this color silkscreen was produced by the Chicago unit of the WPA Art Project. The federal arts program used silkscreen widely because it could produce bold posters in quantity at low cost. The subjects listed in the record, including barns, farms and rural mailboxes, reflect the farm families the gatherings were meant to reach. A date stamp of January 8, 1941, places the poster in the months before the United States entered World War II.
