Few posters of the period state the offer as plainly as this one: classes for adults, at no charge. Printed in silkscreen in 1936, it was one of many posters the Federal Art Project made to publicize Works Progress Administration services, including the adult education program that offered literacy, job training and general courses to people who had left school. The Ohio subject ties it to that statewide effort, and the January 1941 date stamped on the back shows the poster was still being filed and used years after it was printed.
