Seven numbered division insignia frame the central illustration here, and the poster's text lists the branches a recruit could join: infantry, cavalry, field artillery, engineers, signal corps, medical department, tank corps, and several others. Printed in 1919, it dates from the months after the Armistice, when the Army was demobilizing its wartime National Army and working to build a smaller regular force. Recruiting posters of this period leaned on the prestige of the divisions that had fought in France, so the emphasis on "First Division Regulars" would have carried real weight with men deciding whether to stay in uniform.
