Plate 83 in a German portfolio, *Jembo', von Südwesten* is labeled as a view from the southwest of a place called Jembo'. B. Moritz made the photoprint in 1914, and it was later issued in *Bilder aus Palästina, Nord Arabien und dem Sinai*, published in Berlin by Dietrich Riemer in 1916. Its wartime publication placed it among German-language photographs of the Ottoman-ruled Levant that circulated widely in those years, giving the images a documentary role. The caption card's geographic and panorama tags suggest the view was meant as a landscape survey rather than a portrait.
