Parked at the corner of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., this Hudson Super Six sits in front of the State, War, and Navy Building, the massive granite landmark completed in 1888 to house the departments that ran American diplomacy and the military. The Super Six, a six-cylinder touring car from Detroit's Hudson Motor Car Company, was among the more popular premium automobiles of the early 1920s. The photograph comes from the National Photo Company, a Washington firm that documented the capital's streets and buildings in the early twentieth century.
