Artists Point, an overlook above the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, is the setting for this 1927 photograph of President Calvin Coolidge with Horace Albright, then superintendent of Yellowstone and later director of the National Park Service. Presidential visits helped draw public attention to the national parks during the 1920s, when automobile travel was expanding rapidly. The print was registered for copyright, and its catalog record carries the Copyright Office number.
