Rather than a festive scene, this color poster treats Christmas as a political target. Its Russian title sets a puppet show against the claim that fighting religion means fighting for socialism. Radakov's bold figures and flat color reflect the Soviet poster style, which was built to reach workers and villagers who could not read long texts. Printed in Moscow with an estimated date between 1925 and 1935, it belongs to the period when the League of the Militant Godless promoted antireligious theater around religious holidays.
