This lithograph borrows its title from a mock painting, "Henry Clay Esqre's big picter," supposedly drawn from nature by a "Zek Downing, Historical Painter," and dedicated to "Uncle Jack & Jineral Jackson." Published in New York by H.R. Robinson in 1834 as a second edition, it caricatures the leading political figures of the day, including Andrew Jackson, Nicholas Biddle, Martin Van Buren, Daniel Webster, and William J. Duane. The fight over the Second Bank of the United States, which Jackson had opposed and whose federal deposits he moved in 1833, supplies its subject, and the print turns that bitter rivalry into a satirical banquet scene.
