From an elevated vantage point, this stereograph shows T Wharf, a working pier on Boston's waterfront tied to the city's fishing trade. Keystone View Company published large numbers of stereo cards, and this one, issued around 1901 under the copyright of B.L. Singley, was meant to be viewed through a stereoscope for a three-dimensional effect. Boston's harbor was busy with fishing and shipping at the turn of the century, so the card offers a useful glimpse of that waterfront life. The date and photographer come from unverified caption data, so treat them as approximate.
