The name attached to this plate is Paul Sikera, but the Library of Congress notes that it comes from caption data written by the Bain News Service on the negative or its card, and that the data has not been verified. The image is a glass negative, a format widely used by photo agencies in the early twentieth century. George Grantham Bain founded the New York service in 1899, and its staff supplied newspapers with news and feature pictures for years afterward. Treat the name as a lead for further research rather than a confirmed identification.
