The Jewish National Fund issued the poster, and it is credited to the artists A. Alhanani and A. Kaufman. Dated 1939 or 1940, it appeared in the last years of the British Mandate, when the Arab revolt of 1936 to 1939 made settlement work dangerous, and it urges volunteers to take up land reclamation as a civic duty.
