A switchboard operator at the Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier National Park, identified in the caption as Helen, stands at the switchboard in this June 26, 1925 negative. The hotel, built by the Great Northern Railway on the park's east side, drew visitors to remote mountain country, and its telephone exchange linked guests and staff across the property. The Bain News Service, a New York photo agency, made and distributed the image, and its caption information is unverified, so the operator's name and identity should be treated as the photographer's record rather than confirmed fact.
