The card is catalogued as T210, the designation collectors give to the Old Mill cigarette series issued in 1910, and it carries the brand name of Old Mill Cigarettes. Cards like this were tucked into cigarette packs, where the stiff cardboard protected the cigarettes and the picture gave buyers something to collect. The print combines relief halftone with stencil work, a mix of methods that was common in tobacco-card production of the period. Because the card itself carried no title, Library staff supplied the descriptive name used in the catalog.
