The Library's record credits this color program, dated March 3, 1913, to a maker named Dale and ties it to the United States Capitol. The printed date marks the suffrage procession that Alice Paul and the National American Woman Suffrage Association organized for the day before Woodrow Wilson's inauguration. Thousands of marchers moved down Pennsylvania Avenue toward the Capitol, and the hostile crowds that met them drew wide press attention to the cause. The program offers a rare printed trace of how the organizers presented that day to the public.
