Few posters from 1914 turn the wounded soldier into a worker, and this one does so in French under the title *Les Blessés au travail*. Its catalog subjects include toy soldiers, which suggests that the trades shown here included making toys, a common choice for disabled men learning to work with their hands. Artist A. Galland signed the sheet, which was printed as a lithograph in sepia and black. As the French state and private charities began retraining men disabled in the war, posters like this one encouraged veterans and the public to see rehabilitation as a path back to useful labor.
