Set near the Centennial Grounds in Fairmount Park, Camp Woodward shows a corner of Philadelphia's 1876 exhibition, which marked the nation's 100th anniversary. With lodging in short supply and crowds heavy that summer, many visitors turned to tent camps and simple accommodations on the edges of the fairgrounds. The title dates the view to July 1876, but the shelflist card gives no date, and the name Max Rosenthal appears on it without any verified link to the print.
