The modest frame house on Mickle Street in Camden, New Jersey, is one of the few American literary homes tied so closely to a single poet. Walt Whitman lived here from 1884 until his death in 1892, and this 1890 photograph shows the place during his last years, when he was revising *Leaves of Grass* and receiving steady visitors. The Feinberg Whitman Collection holds the print, though the caption card details have not been fully verified.
