Held in Nashville in 1897 to mark a century of Tennessee statehood, the Tennessee Centennial Exposition drew crowds to a fairground of temporary exhibition halls. This stereo card shows the Auditorium, the large hall built to hold big crowds for ceremonies and programs. Stereographs like this one, issued by the Keystone View Company from a negative by B.L. Singley, let home viewers see such scenes in three dimensions through a hand viewer. The card's catalog tags also list Illinois, a reminder that the exposition drew visitors and exhibitors from well beyond Tennessee.
