One of the earliest cabinet meetings held under Woodrow Wilson, who took office in March 1913, is the subject here. The print came from the National Photo Company, a Washington firm that recorded government officials and public events in the early twentieth century, and its catalog number, 975, appears on the caption card. Photographs of closed-door sessions like this were uncommon, so the image offers a rare glimpse of a new administration at work. The record dates it only between 1913 and 1924.
