Its title, *La barrera inexpugnable* ("The Impregnable Barrier"), sits alongside the initials of three anarchist organizations: the CNT labor federation, the FAI, and the AIT. The poster was issued by the Levante regional confederation of the CNT, probably between 1936 and 1939, when anarchist unions and militias fought on the Republican side against Franco's Nationalists. The record classifies its subject as military personnel, which suggests a call to the militia and the front. Its large format and bold color are typical of the many Republican posters produced during the war.
