The poster's three performers, comedian Jerry Colonna and dancers and singers Ann Miller and Betty Rhodes, set it apart from other entertainment posters of the period. The title "Priorities on Parade" points to the wartime priority system, which in 1942 governed the allocation of scarce materials and goods, and the piece likely promoted a musical comedy of that year built around the home-front mood. Posters like this one were printed in large numbers and hung in theaters, shops and public spaces, so they reflect how Hollywood tried to keep audiences cheerful while rationing and war production reshaped daily life.
