Nothing on this color lithograph but its lettering: it tells men who cannot enlist to bring in someone who can. The Parliamentary Recruiting Committee in London issued it in 1915, when Britain still relied on voluntary enlistment and the government was looking for new ways to fill the ranks. It was printed by the Haycock-Cadle Company of Camberwell, and its plain, bold type was built to be read quickly on a hoarding or shop window. The appeal put responsibility on every reader, asking ordinary people to act as recruiters.
