This color lithograph, printed in New York in 1918 by the Greenwich Litho Co., promotes a spring Liberty Loan drive and is credited in its title to Wilson-Craig. The United States ran Liberty Loans to pay for its part in the First World War, selling government bonds to ordinary citizens rather than only to banks and wealthy investors. Posters like this one were a central tool of those campaigns, hung in post offices, factories, and storefronts to turn patriotic feeling into bond purchases. Its large format (70 by 51 cm) reflects how such posters were meant to be read from across a street.
