The slogan "Sure we'll finish the job!" and the poster's tag for laborers set this one apart from the many recruiting and bond images of the war. The Liberty Loans were government bond drives that financed the American effort in World War I, and the Victory Liberty Loan was the last of them, promoted in 1919 to help cover the war's enormous costs. The record ties the poster to the economic side of the war, a reminder that the home front depended on factory and industrial workers buying bonds as well as soldiers fighting overseas. The catalog dates it to 1917, though the Victory campaign itself came later.
