Four men are shown on a slide in a park, a subject the Bain News Service recorded on a glass negative in the George Grantham Bain Collection at the Library of Congress. The title comes from unverified notes on the negative or its caption card, so the exact location and date are not confirmed. Bain's agency, which operated in New York from about 1900 to 1915, sent photographers out to document news, street life and public recreation, and playground slides were a common sight in parks of that era. The glass plate format, typical of the period, gives the image its fine detail.
