Printed entirely in Yiddish with no pictures, this lithograph speaks to London's Jewish community as a community rather than to the public at large. Its title presents it as a call from English labor leaders to Jewish young people, urging them to support the war effort and enlist. Many of those readers lived in the East End, where families from Eastern Europe had settled over the previous decades and where Yiddish was the everyday language. Issued in 1915 by a joint labor recruiting office, when Britain still relied on volunteers, it shows how recruiters tailored their message to reach men that mainstream appeals might miss.
