Two children named Koo stand with a Christmas tree in this 1919 glass negative, a holiday scene caught on an 8 by 6 inch plate. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., studio active in the early twentieth century, made large numbers of negatives like this one, and the Library of Congress holds the collection. The title and date come from the company's notes and from related negatives, so they are not fully verified. The streaks and blemishes across the image come from the deterioration of the plate's original coatings over time.
