Don't let up" is the urgent tone of this 1918 color lithograph by F. Luis Mora, whose slogan asks Americans to keep saving food as the war dragged on. The U.S. Food Administration, led by Herbert Hoover, encouraged households to cut back on wheat, meat, and sugar so that supplies could go to American troops and Allied countries in Europe. Posters like this one carried the message into homes, schools, and shops, where people were asked to make voluntary sacrifices in their daily meals.
